Enterprise Trainer and Assessor Skill Set

The TAESS00015 Enterprise Trainer and Assessor Skill Set is a minimum qualification required for those seeking to work as trainers at Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), TAFEs and private training organisations to deliver nationally-recognised training. This skill set is designed to provide the necessary skills and knowledge for people training under supervision in the VET sector, who work mainly in classroom situations.

The course is based on the following units from (and also provide credit towards) the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment:

  • TAEASS401 Plan assessment activities and processes
  • TAEASS402 Assess competence
  • TAEASS403 Participate in assessment validation
  • TAEDEL301 Provide work skill instruction

The Standards for RTOs 2015 clauses 1.17 & 1.18 allow those who possess this TAESS00015 - Enterprise Trainer and Assessor Skill Set to deliver training under the general supervision of a trainer.  However, you must also have vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed (e.g., if you are delivering a hairdressing unit you must have suitable hairdressing competencies); and have current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided.  This skill set does not allow you to determine formal assessment outcomes. The TAESS00015 - Enterprise Trainer and Assessor Skill Set supersedes and is equivalent to TAESS00003 - Enterprise Trainer and Assessor Skill Set .
